La Maison des Truffes et de la Trufficulture (The Truffle & Truffle-Farming House)

The 'Maison des Truffes et de la Trufficulture' is located in Boncourt-sur-Meuse, a village in the heart of the 'Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine'. Here, we promote the truffle, a product which grows naturally in the chalky limestone soil found in the East of France.

This authentic residence entirely renovated by the “Communauté des Communes du Pays de Commercy”, offers an exhibition spreaded over 450 square metres. It enables visitors to enter into and explore the world of truffles; they can also view a film that reveals the secrets of this underground mushroom, that fascinates the finest gourmets. The visit closes with a tasting session. Cooking demonstrations and workshops are also organised regularly on the first floor. Finally, there is a shop offering a wide choice of truffle-based products.

The 'Maison des Truffes et de la Trufficulture' is the first structure of its kind in the East of France. It is also a training centre for the complete truffle-farming chain, as well as a site for scientific experiments. Indeed, behind the house, lie 7 hectares of truffle-ground planted with nut trees, where the 'Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique' carry out experiments in order to improve the farming techniques of this fine culinary product, which the flavour charms our taste buds.
